Product Details

Our luxuriously soft blankets are available in two different sizes and feature incredible artwork on the top surface. The bottom surface is white. Our 100% polyester blankets are available in two different styles: plush fleece and sherpa fleece. Plush fleece blankets are soft and fluffy on both sides, whereas sherpa blankets are smooth like a soft sweater on the artwork side (i.e. shorter threads) which provides for a sharper image. Looking for a recommendation? Go with a 60" x 80" plush fleece blanket. It's soft and luxurious on both sides... the artwork looks incredible... and the size is just right for everyone.

Artist's Description

In 1957, a favorite hangout after the game was the Pig Stand #10 on Port Arthur Road at Highland Ave. There were several Pig Stands in Beaumont and part of the Friday night fun was making the rounds of all of them three or four times.

This scene depicts a typical gathering of teens from arch rivals South Park and Beaumont High. See if you can name all the cars and find the "Cherry Coke" and "Pig Sandwich".

Notes from the artist:

After the Jefferson Theatre the next obvious choice of a nostalgic 50s era painting had to be the Pig Stand 10. Built in 1924, several generations of teens "hung out" there, especially those from South Park High. Check out the history of the Pig Stand at "Texas Pig Stands".

Following the theme of my first Moments to Remember scene, in each painting my models are friends and relatives. Each scene depicts a "particular day" in the 50s and 60s. I feature 2 or 3 classic cars in each such as the '57 Chevy Bel-Air Convertible. and the...

About Randy Welborn

Randy Welborn

I remember like it was yesterday... The little black box of PRANG watercolors I received at Christmas when I was seven started me on a lifelong love of drawing and painting. Rendering the images of every comic book character from Mickey Mouse to Superman and Little Lulu furthered my art education. Little Golden Books, "The Color Kittens," taught me the basics of mixing colors. Then a magical experience happened! At the Jefferson Theater in downtown Beaumont, Texas (where I was born and raised), I saw Disney's "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs." Eagerly I awaited each new release through the years: Pinocchio, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, and Lady and the Tramp. At 12, I started an art notebook and bought my first oil paints. At 14,...
