Product Details

Our luxuriously soft blankets are available in two different sizes and feature incredible artwork on the top surface. The bottom surface is white. Our 100% polyester blankets are available in two different styles: plush fleece and sherpa fleece. Plush fleece blankets are soft and fluffy on both sides, whereas sherpa blankets are smooth like a soft sweater on the artwork side (i.e. shorter threads) which provides for a sharper image. Looking for a recommendation? Go with a 60" x 80" plush fleece blanket. It's soft and luxurious on both sides... the artwork looks incredible... and the size is just right for everyone.

Artist's Description

Big Thicket Information Center, aka, The Staley Cabin. Jimmy H. and Elda Staley built this log cabin in 1936 on Kirby land. Before the construction of the new Big Thicket Visitor's Center (located a few miles down the road) this cabin was restored and used as the Big Thicket Information Center. The Staley Cabin is an example of homesteading practiced in the 1800's in Southeast Texas. Homesteading allowed settlers to become a land owner by farming the land. The practice was widely adopted by low income families during the depression. The Staley family raised hogs and cattle here. FM 420 was built in 1945, and the land was aquired by the Big Thicket National Preserve, the nation's very first National Preserve Park. There's a wonderful nature trail (the Kirby Nature Trail) that stretches for miles behind this cabin, leading down to Village Creek. It's a perfect place for a hike of a few miles and picnic by the bridge over Village Creek. For more experienced hikers, the trails extends nort...

Randy Welborn

I remember like it was yesterday... The little black box of PRANG watercolors I received at Christmas when I was seven started me on a lifelong love of drawing and painting. Rendering the images of every comic book character from Mickey Mouse to Superman and Little Lulu furthered my art education. Little Golden Books, "The Color Kittens," taught me the basics of mixing colors. Then a magical experience happened! At the Jefferson Theater in downtown Beaumont, Texas (where I was born and raised), I saw Disney's "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs." Eagerly I awaited each new release through the years: Pinocchio, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, and Lady and the Tramp. At 12, I started an art notebook and bought my first oil paints. At 14,...
