Artist's Description

This painting of the bayou in the Big Thicket, with Bald Cypress trees, Oak trees, such as the Water Oak and Pin Oak, which can tolerate wet soil and often found in swampy areas. The Cypress trees are known for their "knees" (wooden structures that stick out of the water) and distinctive, fibrous bark. The bayou is a serene and peaceful place to visit. The tall Cypress trees tower over the water, their gnarled roots (knees) poking out of the water which can be about 6 feet deep near the trees at times of high water. The water is sometimes deep, with dark green and brown colors, perfectly still, creating a mirror-like reflection of the trees. The sunlight filters through the trees, casting a warm and inviting glow on the scene. This painting evokes a sense of tranquility and seclusion, inviting the viewer to escape into the peaceful swamp 9with plenty of bug spray). The realistic details and rich colors used in the painting make it an excellent addition to any home or office.

Eagerly I awaited each new release through the years: Pinocchio, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, and Lady and the Tramp. At 12, I started an art notebook and bought my first oil paints. At 14,...
